if x=3 is one of the root of the quadratic equation x2-2kr-6=0than find the value of k

Hey.. I think this can be ur answer!!

x=3
Polynomial - x2 - 2kx - 6 =0
So now,
P(3)= (3)2 - 2k(3) =6
=9-6k=6
=-6k=-3
=k=1/2

x = 3
P(x) = x^2-2kx-6
        = 3^2-2k3-6
        = 9-6k-6 = 0
            3-6k = 0
              6k = 3
                k = 3/6 =1/2
                   = 0.5
