Step-by-step explanation:

i think the question has some mistake

it's not c^2 - 2xk - 2

it should be x^2 - 2xk - 2

x= -3 is the root of x^2 - 2xk - 2 = 0

to find k

put x= -3 in equation x^2 - 2xk - 2

NOW,

(-3)^2 - 2(-3)k - 2 = 0

9 + 6k - 2 = 0

7 + 6k = 0

6k = -7

k = -7/6
