To find:-

= x²+1/x²

Solution:-

=> 1/x = 1/(3+√8)

= 1/(3+√8)×(3-√8)/(3-√8)

= 3-√8/9-1

= 3-√8

Now,

=> (x+1/x) = x² + 1/x² + 2×(x)×(1/x)

=> (3+√8+3-√8) = x²+1/x² + 2

=> (3)² = x²+1/x²+2

=> x²+1/x² = 7
