x = ( 3 + √2 ) / ( 3 - √2 ) × ( 3 + √2 ) / ( 3 + √2 )

= ( 3 + √2 )² / ( 3 - 2 )

= 11 + 6√2

y = ( 3 - √2 ) / ( 3 + √2 ) × ( 3 - √2 ) / ( 3 - √2 )

= 11 - 6√2

x² + y² = ( 11 + 6√2 )² + ( 11 - 6√2 )²

121 + 72 + 132√2 + 121 + 72 - 132√2

= 386
