3x-ky=1
3X3 - kX-2=1
9-(-2k)=1
9+2k=1
2k=1-9
2k = -8
k = -8/2
k=-4

The value of k is -4

Given:

x = 3, y = -2

3x - ky = 1  is a linear equation

To find:

The value of k

Solution:

Given x = 3, y = -2 are solution of given equation 3x - ky = 1

Which means for given values of x and y the given equation will be satisfied

Now substitute x and y values in given equation to find the value of k

⇒ 3(3) - k(-2) = 1

⇒ 9 + 2k = 1

⇒ 2k = -8

⇒ k = -4

Therefore, the value of k = -4
