if x= 3a+7 and y=9a^2 , what is y in terms of x?

We have x=3a+7

Now Squaring on both sides

We find, x^2=(3a+7)^2

x^2 = 9a^2 +49+42a

, 9a^2 =x^2-49-42a..........(1)

Now we have y=9a^2

Than put the value of 9a^2 from.,(1)

So, y= x^2 - 49-42a
