Given :- x+3y=11 and 2x+3y=13 then y = ? .

Solution :-

→ x + 3y = 11 ------- Eqn.(1)

→ 2x + 3y = 13 -------- Eqn.(2)

subtracting Eqn.(1) from Eqn.(2) ,

→ (2x + 3y) - (x + 3y) = 13 - 11

→ 2x - x + 3y - 3y = 2

→ x = 2 .

putting value of x in Eqn.(1) ,

→ 2 + 3y = 11

→ 3y = 11 - 2

→ 3y = 9

→ y = 3 (Ans.)
