Answer:

We can write (a²+b²) as (a-b)²+2.a.b and also as (a+b)²-2.a.b. This is the concept to solve this question.

Now coming to your question

(x⁴+1/x⁴)=(x²+1/x²)²-2=23

i.e,(x²+1/x²)=25

Now we can write (x²+1/x²) as (x-1/x)²+2

i.e,25=(x-1/x)²+2

i.e,(x-1/x)²=23.

Hope it helps you!
