Solution : Adding equations 1 and 2 , we have

4 x = 10

Dividing both sides by ‘ 4 ‘ , we have

4 x / 4 = 10 / 4

=> x = 5 / 2

=> x = 2.5

Putting x = 2.5 in equation ‘ 1 ‘ , we have

2.5 + Y = 6

Subtracting ‘ 2.5 ‘ on both sides, we have

2.5 - 2.5 + Y = 6 - 2.5

=> y = 3.5

So, x - y = 2.5 - 3.5
