Answer:

Associative law is used.

L.H.S

x + y = 4/7 + (-5/21)

taking L.C.M

x + y = 12/21 - 5/21 =7/21 or 1/3

(x + y) + z = 1/3 + 1/3 = 2/3

R.H.S

y + z = -5/21 + 1/3

taking L.C.M

y + z = -5/21 + 7/21 = 2/21

x + (y + z) = 4/7 + 2/21

taking L.C.M

12/21 + 2/21 = 14/21 = 2/3

Now,

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence verified.

Thank You!!
