Since X+4 is a factor,x=-4

p(x)=2x^2+2ax+5x+10

p(-4)=0

2(-4)^2+2a(-4)+5(-4)+10=0

32-8a-20+10=0

-8a+22=0

a=22/8 =11/4 ans

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:let g(x) =x+4 ; p(x)= 2x^2 + 2ax+5x+10

Now if g(x)is a factor of p(x); then g((x)=0 ; x+.4=0 hence x= -4 now p(-4)=0 2(-4)^2 +2a(-4) + 5(-4)+. 10=0 =32-20+10-8a=0 epuals to: 22 -8a =0 = -8a = -22 hence a= -22/-8 = 11/4 ans. HOPE IT HELPS
