let's put the value of x in equation - ( x^2-px + 20)

4^2 - 4p + 20 = 0

16 - 4p + 20 = 0

36 - 4p = 0

p = - 36 / - 4 = 9

then we will put the value of x and p in the equation - {x^2 +( p - 6 ) x - q }

4^ 2 + (9 - 6) 4 - q = 0

= 16 +(3) 4-q =0

16 + 12 - 3q = 0

28 - 3q = 0

q = - 28 /- 3 = 28 /3

so, the value of q is 28/3.
