x=4+√15
1/x= 1/(4+√15) = 4-√15
to find x + 1/x
x+1/x = (4+√15 + 4 - √15 )
x+1/x = 8

aryansehgal201: not that you have been already given the value of x so when you find the value of root 15 you'll get 7.87 approx

x = 4+ \sqrt{15}

 \frac{1}{x} =  \frac{1}{4+ \sqrt{15} }

 \frac{1}{x} = \frac{1}{4+ \sqrt{15} } * \frac{4- \sqrt{15}}{4- \sqrt{15} } =  \frac{4- \sqrt{15}}{16-15} = 4- \sqrt{15}

x +  \frac{1}{x}  = 4+ \sqrt{15} + 4- \sqrt{15} = 8
