Question :

If

x {}^{4}  + x {}^{3}  - 2x {}^{2}  + x + 1

is divided by x-1 then find remainder.

Answer :

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Put x = 1

x {}^{4}  + x {}^{3}  - 2x {}^{2}  + x + 1 \\ (1) {}^{4}   + (1) {}^{3}   - 2(1) {}^{2}  + 1 + 1 \\ 1 + 1 - 2 + 1 + 1 \\ 2 - 2 + 2 \\  = 2

The remainder is 2 .

Hope this will help you.
