Here is ur answer mate....

x^2 - 1 = 0

x^2 = 1

x = 1 , -1

f (x) = 0

f (1) = 0

x^4 + x^3 + x^2 + ax + b = 0

1^4 + 1^3 + 1 + 1×a + b = 0

1 + 1 + 1 + a + b = 0

a + b = -3. ----- 1.

f (-1) = 0

x^4 + x^3 + x^2 + ax + b = 0

1^4 + (-1)^3 + (-1)^2 + a×-1 + b =0

1 - 1 +1 -a + b = 0

a - b = 1. ----- 2.

from eq.1 and eq.2

a + b = -3

a - b = 1

therefore we get :-

a = -1

put this value in eq. 1

a + b = -3

b = -3 + 1

b = -2
