Let : x = 5 + 2√6.

Then : x = 3 + 2 + 2√((3)(2))

∴ x = (√3)² + (√2)² + 2(√3)(√2) = (√3 + √2)²

∴ √x = √3 + √2 .

∴ 1/(√x) = 1/(√3 + √2) = 1/(√3 + √2) x (√3 - √2)/(√3 - √2) = (√3 - √2)/ (3 - 2) = √3 - √2

∴ (√x) + (1/√x) = √3 + √2 + √3 - √2 = 2√
