Given,

x=5+3√3

→ 1/x =1/5+3√3

→ 1/x = 1 × (5-3√3) / (5+3√3)(5-3√3)

→ 1/x = 5 - 3√3 / (5)^2 - (9×3)

→ 1/x = 5 - 3√3 / 25 - 27

→ 1/x = 5 - 3√3 / -2

Now,

x+1/x

= (5 + 3√3) + 5 - 3√3/-2

= -10 - 6√3 -5 + 3√3

=-15 - 6√3

=if x=5+3√3 then find the value of x2+1/x2

So,

x^2 + 1/x^2

=(x+1/x)^2 - 2. x . 1/x

={(-15 -6√3)^2} - 2 . (5+3√3) . (-15 - 6√3)

={(-15)^2 - 2. -15 . 6√3 + (6√3)^2}
- 2(-75 - 30√3 - 45 √3 - 54)

=225-180√3+108+150+60√3+90√3+108

=591 - 30√3

so, x^2 + 1/x^2 = 591-30√3
