If x+5/3 - 3x-2/5 = 1 then what is the value of ‘x’

Answer:

x + \frac{5}{3}  - 3x -  \frac{2}{5} = 1

Take variables on one side and constants on other side

x - 3x = 1 -  \frac{5}{3}  +  \frac{2}{5}

simplify equation

 - 2x =  \frac{(15)(1) - (5)(5) + (2)(3)}{15}

 - 2x =  \frac{15 - 25 + 6}{15}

 - 2x =  \frac{  - 4}{15}

 - 2x =  - 0.26

  \frac{ - 2x}{ - 2}  =   \frac{ - 0.26}{ - 2}

x = 0.13
