Answer:

we know

x-5=0

x=5

NOW

(5)³-3(5)²+K(5)-10

125 - 3×25+5K-10

125-75+5K-10

50+5K-10

5K-40=0

5K=40

K=40/5

K=8

Answer: 64/5

Since x+5 is a factor of f(x) = 3x² + kx - 11,

x + 5 = 0

=> x = -5

This means -5 is the zero of the polynomial

f(5) = 3(-5)² + k(-5) - 11 = 0                                  (since -5 is a zero)

=> 3(25) - 5k - 11 = 0

=> 75 - 5k - 11 = 0

=> 75 - 11 = 5k

=> 64 = 5k

=> 5k = 64

=> k = 64/5

Hence the answer is 64/5

Hope it helps.....
