EXPLANATION:-

 \frac{x + 5}{x + 1}  =  \frac{x - 1}{x + 2}

By cross multiplication-

(x+5) (x+2) = (x+1)(x-1)

x(x+2)+5(x+2) = x^2 - 1^2

x {}^{2}  + 2x + 5x + 10 =  {x}^{2} - 1

 {x}^{2}  -  {x}^{2}  + 7x + 10 + 1

7x + 11 =0

7x = -11

x = -11/7. ANSWER!!!!
