h(12) = -5 (12-2)^2:

using identity (a-b)^2 = a^2+b^2-2ab

= -5 {(12)^2+(2)^2+2×12×2}

= -5 ( 12×12+2×2-2×12×2)

= -5 (144+4-48)

= -5 (148-48)

= -5 ×100

= -500
