x  + 3 = 0 \\ x = 0 - 3 =  - 3

and if we take X minus 5 to be zero, then

x - 5 = x = 0 + 5 = 5

Now if X is the length of a rectangle, then it obviously has to be a natural ( counting) number as we have to count the length of a rectangle. out of -3 and 5, 5 is a natural number not -3 as we can't use negative numbers for counting. We can't say there are -3 books in the bag. but we can say that there are 5 books in the bag.
