GIVEN:-

  • If x:6::5:3 find the value of x.

TO FIND:-

  • The value of x.

SOLUTION:-

Hey mate! As we can see that all the terms including x are in proportion so to find the hidden value of x we will follow the rule.

Product of means=Product of extremes.

here means is the 2nd and 3rd term and Extremes is the 1st and 4th term.

So to find the 1st term i.e., of extremes we will form an equation.

  • =>3x=6×5

Now we will first multiply both the terms in R.H.S. in order to find there products.

  • =>3x=30

Now as 3 is a constant and is on L.H.S. we will move it to its correct place R.H.S. and by following the rule that if any number or variable moved it's sign gets changed we will also divided 30 and 3.

  • =>x=30/3

  • =>x=10

hey mate! Value of x is 10.

hope it helped!
