Correct Question -

If ( x + 6 ) is a factor of x² - x + p, then the value of p is

Answer :-

By using factor theorem -

x + 6 = 0

x = -6

Substituting the value in polynomial -

x² - x + p = 0

(-6)² - ( -6 ) + p = 0

36 + 6 + p = 0

p + 42 = 0

p = -42

Hence, the value of p is -42
