X+6=0
X=-6
p(-6)=(-6)³+3(-6)²+4(-6)+k
= -216+108-24+k
=-240+108+k
=-132+k
132=k

Given equation

x^3 + 3x^2 +4x+k = 0

(x+6) is a factor of the equation

(x+6)=0; x = -6 ... substituting it in the equation

(-6)^3 + 3(-6)^2 +4(-6)+k = 0

-216 + 3(36) -24 + k = 0

-216 + 108 -24 + k =0

-132 + k = 0

k = 132

The equation is

x^3 + 3x^2 +4x+132 = 0
