ANSWER

x = 7 - 6

therefore, 1/ x = 1 / 7 - 6

So,

x + 1/ x = ( 7 - 6 + 7 - 6 )

= - 26 ANS

Step-by-step explanation:

x = √7 - √6

1/x = 1/√7 - √6

On rationalising the denominator, we get

1/√7 - √6 = 1(√7+√6) / (√7+√6)(√7-√6) = √7+√6/(√7)²-(√6)² = √7+√6/7-6 =√7+√6/1= √7+√6

Substituting the values of x and 1/x

 \sqrt{7}  -  \sqrt{6}  +  \sqrt{7}  +  \sqrt{6}  = 2 \sqrt{7}

Hope this helps you...
