If (x+a)²=x²+1+1/4x² then find a

(x + a)² = x² + a² + 2ax

Given, (x + a)² = x² + 1 + 1/(4x²)

2ax = 1 (or) a² = 1/(4x²)

a = 1/2x a = 1/2x

Answer: a = 1/2x
