if x=a and y=b is the solution of the pair of eqation x-y=2 and x+y=4 then find the value of a and b

or ,a-b=2.....(1)

x+y=4.....

or, a+b=4......(2)

on adding both equations....

a-b=2

a+b=4

2a=6

a=3

on putting value of a =3 in equation 1....

a-b=2

3-b=2

b=1...

hence, the value of a =3... and b=1...
