This is similar to one of the equations of motion: (e.g. motion in a horizontal plane)
∆x = u•∆t + (1/2)a•∆t² (constant acceleration)
Where ∆x - displacement (in m)
u - initial velocity (in m/s)
∆t - time interval ( in s)
a - acceleration (in m/s²)
In this case where x = a•t + b•t² :
If x is in meters (m) , then unit for a is meters per hour(m/h) and for b is maters per hour squared(m/h²).
Take it as if a represent velocity and b represent *the rate of change of a*- acceleration.
x = a•t + b•t²
x = (m/h)•(h) + (m/h²)•(h²) substitutions represent units.
x = m + m
Therefore x is in meters (m)
