Answer:

x=a cos theta

y=a sin theta

x²+y²=a²

L.H.S

= (a cos∅)² + (a sin∅)²

= a²cos∅² + a²sin∅²

= a²(cos∅² + sin∅²)

= a²(1)                             [ cos∅² + sin∅² = 1 ]

= a²

Which is equal to R.H.S
