If x+a is a factor of 2x^2+2ax+5x+10...............(1)
then+a=0
then x=-a
now we put x=-a in (1) and equal zero
2(-a)^2+2a(-a)+5(-a)+10=0
2a^2-2a^2-5a+10=0
-5a=-10
a=2

shivani12320: please solve it
anu453: If x+a is a factor of this. then x+a=0 and x=-a , now you put x=-a
anu453: and =0
