x+a is a factor of 2x²+2ax+5x+10
therefore f(-a)=0;
substituting values,
2(-a)²+2(a)(-a)+5(-a)+10=0
2a²-2a²-5a+10=0
-5a+10=0
∴ a = -10 / -5
∴ a = 2
hope this helps you !!

Hey... I think this can be ur answer!!
X+a=0
x=-a
Now p(x) = 2x2 + 2ax +5x +10 =0
P(-a)=2(-a)2 + 2a(-a) +5(-a)+10=0
=2a2 - 2a2 - 5a = -10
=-5a - 10
a=2......
Hope it helps you dear ☺️☺️
