According to factor theorem if x-a is a factor of p(x) then p(a) = 0.

Since p(x) = x³-5x²a+4a²x+m

= p(a) = 0

=) a^3 - 5(a)^2 (a) + 4(a)^2 (a) + m = 0

=) a^3 - 5a^3 + 4a^3 + m = 0

=) m = 0.

Hope it's helpful to u.

batradivjyot25: I asked u to find the value of m...what did u answered...?? I can't understand...
Anonymous: if x-a is a factor of given polynomial then p(a) = 0
Anonymous: by factor theorem
Anonymous: put value of a at x then solve iy
Anonymous: u will get the answer ur own
batradivjyot25: Then the value of a will be 0
Anonymous: no value of a at x = 0
Anonymous: got it??
batradivjyot25: Thanks..

Answer:

m=0

Step-by-step explanation:

x - a = 0

Put x = a

a³ - 5a³ + 4a³ + m = 0

-5a³ + 5a³ + m = 0

m = 0
