★ Answer :

X = a sec∅ ........(1)

y = a tan∅ ..........(2)

As, we have to find the value of x² - y². Then, we get

→ x² - y² = (a sec∅)² - (a tan∅)²

→ x² - y² = a² Sec²∅ - a² tan²∅

→ x² - y² = a²(Sec²∅ - tan²∅)

We know that,

Sec²∅ - tan²∅ = 1

→ x² - y² = a²(1)

→ x² - y² = a²
