add equation(i) and equation(ii) and we get :

2x=6

This is the equation we get and now find value of x by rearranging the equation .

X=6/2

X=3

Note: Here y is cancelled because of opposite signs.

Now,

Put x=2 in equation(i) or equation (ii) to find the value of y.

Here I am putting x=2 in equation(i)

x-y=2

3-y=2

-y=2-3

-y=-1

Y=1

Values of x is 3 and value of y is 1.
