Step-by-step explanation:

x+y=5 - 1eq

2x-3y=4 - 2eq

Multiply 1eq from 2

2x+2y=10 - 3eq

2eq -3eq

2x+2y-2x+3y=4-10

5y=-6

y=-6/5

Put y value in 2 eq

2x-3*(-6/5)=4

2x+18=20

2x=2

x=1

Hence x=a

So a=1

Y=b

So b=-6/5

Hope u understand

Answer:

x+y = 5

x=5-y .....(1)

2x-3y = 4

2 (5-y) - 3y = 4

10 - 2y - 3y = 4

10 - 4 = 5y

6/5 = y .....(2)

put value of y in (1)

x = 5 - (6/5)

x = (25 - 6)/5

x= 19/5

a=x=19/5

b=y=6/5
