  • We can write the above equation like

a-b=2....eq(1)

a+b=4.....eq(2)

then -b and+b will be cancelled and we have only a+a =2a ..

2a=6

a=6/2

a=3

  • put the value of a in eq.(1) so we obtain,
  • a-b=2
  • 3-b=2
  • -b=2-3
  • -b=-1
  • b=1

The value of a=3 and b=1..
