a+b=2+a-b=4 then a+a=2a and -y+y=0 then 2a=4+2=6. 2a =6 therefore a=6/2=3 &in equation 1st a-b= 4 a=3 then 3-b=4 and -b=4-3=1 therefore b=y= -1
