Solution:-

x - y = 2 and

x + y = 4;

adding them,

2x = 6 x = 3;

subtracting them, 2y = 2 y = 1;

So, a = 3 and b = 1 is the solution of the equation.

Hope it helps you

As x=a and y=bthen

⇒a−b=2.

⇒a+b=4..

Adding eq1 and eq2

⇒2a=6

⇒a=6/2=3

the value of a in eq1

⇒3−b=2

⇒−b=2−3

⇒b=1

Hence the value of a=3  and b=1
