dx/d¢ = d(acos¢)/d¢ = -acos¢ ______(1)

dy/d¢ = bsin¢ = +- bcos¢ _________(2)

Dividing 1 and 2 we get .

dy/dx = bcos¢/-asin¢ = -b/acot¢
