GiveN :

  • Angles x and x/4 are complimentary angles

To FinD :

  • Measure of both the angles

SolutioN :

As we know if angles are complimentary then their sum is 90°

\dashrightarrow \tt{\angle 1 \: + \: \angle 2 \: = \: 90 ^{\circ}} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{x \: + \: \dfrac{x}{4} \: = \: 90} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{\dfrac{4x \: + \: x}{4} \: = \: 90} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{5x \: = \: 90 \: \times \: 4} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{5x \: = \: 360} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{x \: = \: \dfrac{360}{5}} \\ \\ \dashrightarrow \tt{x \: = \: 72}

  • Firts angle = x = 72°
  • Second angle = x/4 = 18°

Verification :

If the sum of both the angles will be 90°, then our answer will be correct.

⇒72° + 18°

⇒90° = 90°

  • Hence our answer is correct
