Step-by-step explanation:

case 1

since x and y are linear pair

so,

x+y = 180. ( say eqn 1)

case 2

2x=y+30

2x-y=30 ( say eqn 2)

from eqn 1 and 2 by elimination method

x+y=180

2x-y=30

x+2x=180+30

3x=210

x=70

from eqn 1

70+y =180

y=110

thank you!

Answer: x=50 degree and y=130 degree

Step-by-step explanation:

x and y are linear pair

so, x+y = 180 degree -----(equation 1)

twice of x is 30 less than y
so, 2x=y-30 degree
2x-y=-30 degree -------(equation 2)

By using Elimination method

x+y=180 degree

2x-y=-30 degree

3x=150 degree

x=50 degree

Substituting the value of x in equation 1
50 degree + y = 180 degree

y = 180 degree -50 degree

y = 130 degree

Value of x is 50 degree

and value of y is 130 degree
