Hi friend

There are totally three possibilities for this question

1,1,1

5,25,125

6,36,316

So 1,5,6 can be the possibilities

gadakhsanket: Hello friend,

Solution-
a is single digit hence can be from 0 to 9.

Outcomes where unit digit of a and a^3 is same = x
This can happen for,
0^3=0
1^3=1
4^3=64
5^3=125
6^3=216
9^3=729
Hence x=6

Outcomes where unit digit of a and a^2 is same = y
This can happen for,
0^2=0
1^2=1
5^2=25
6^2=36
Hence y=4

x-y=6-4=2

Hence, final answer will be x-y=2

Best luck for exams….
