If the number is divisible by 80, then the last digit shouls be 0. So y=0
Then the number 653x should be divisible by 8. Then the number 53x shouls be divisible by 8.

When 530 divided by 8, the reminder is 2. So the number divisible by 8 after 530 is 536. So the value of x is 6.
So x+y=6
