x and y are two positive integers such that x = 14 y

To find:

The HCF of x and y

Solution:

HCF is the highest common factor which is the highest factor of the given numbers which is multiplied by all the given numbers

we have given the two numbers which are x and y

And the ration of the x and y is given as

  • x = 14y

So now we have to find the HCF of y and 14y

here you can  clearly see that y is common to both numbers so that will be the HCF  of the given numbers

  • HCF[x, y] = y

The HCF of x and y is y
