Answer:

x=12

y=8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

x+y=20    .......(1)

x-y=4       ........(2)

adding (1) and (2), we get

2x=24

x=12

=>y=8

Given ,

" x and y are two zeros of quadratic polynomials such that sum of x and y is 20 and the difference is 4 "

x + y = 20 ... ( 1 )   &

x - y = 4 ... ( 2 )

We need to find the value of x & y.

Now , solve (1) + (2) ,

⇒ 2 x = 24

x = 12

sub. x value in (1) , we get ,

⇒ y = 20 - 12

y = 8

Extra ( Finding Quadratic Equation ) :

Now , Sum of zeroes ,

\implies \bf x+y=12+8=20

Product of zeroes ,

\implies \bf xy=12*8=96

Now , Quadratic polynomial is given by ,

x² - ( Sum of zeroes ) x + ( Product of zeroes )

x² - 20 x + 96
