 \underline {\blue{ Direct \: variation : }}

If x and y are any two quantities such that both of them increase or decrease together and \frac{x}{y} remains constant (say k ) , then we say that x and y are in direct proportion.

 Therefore .,\\ \frac{x}{y} = k \: ( k \:is \:a \:constant )

 Here, \\x = 32 , \: k = 8 , \red {y = ? }

 \implies \frac{32}{y} = 8

 \implies \frac{32}{8} = y

 \implies 4 = y

Therefore.,

:-

Since,x and y vary directly

so,it is a direct variation.

Here,x=32

constant of variation =8

y=?

x/y= k, where k =constant

32/y = 8

y = 32/8

y = 4
