As  x  and  y  are inversely proportional, the equation can be represented as  x=k/y

substituting x=9 and y= 12  ,

we get 9=k/12

=> k = 12*9

=> k = 108

Equation can be represented as x= 108/y

so when y=6 ,

we get x = 108/6

=>  x=108/6

=> x = 18
