Given,

x= asin∅ and y=acos∅

To find:x²+y²

Now,

x² = (asin∅)² =a²sin²∅.......................[i]

y² = (acos∅)² = a²cos²∅......................[ii]

Adding [i] and [ii],

x² + y² = a²sin²∅+a²cos²∅

= a²(sin²∅+cos²∅)

»x²+y²=a². [Since,sin²∅+cos²∅=1]
