X=bsec^3theta Y=atan^3theta

X/b=sec^3theta Y/a=tan^3theta

(X/b)^2/3=(sec^3theta)2/3

=sec^2theta

(Y/a)2/3=(tan^3theta)2/3=tan^2theta

So (X/b)^2/3-(Y/a)^2/3

=sec^2 theta-tan^2theta

=1+tan^2theta-tan^2theta

=1
